Experience Kuala Lumpur

The city of Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and although it might not be the most visited country, it is DEFINITELY worth adding to the list. The experience you need to have in Kuala Lumpur range from experiencing the culture and food to partying and shopping – all the best things about travel!

So, what should you do if you plan to visit the Malaysian capital?

Malaysia

Shopping in the markets

KL – as it is casually known, is the fashion and shopping hub of the country and is home to one of the world’s largest shopping malls. BUT if you are looking to go full market style, you might want to head to the Chinatown Market on Petaling Street. Here is where you will barter for cheap fake Gucci bags and knock off football jerseys. Across the road, you will also see Central Market, which was established in 1888 and is home to beautiful trinkets and souvenirs as well as a lot of handmade goods!

Malaysia

Visiting the iconic Petronas Twin Towers

Of course, the Petronas Twin Towers are the most iconic in KL. They are the towers on every postcard of KL and are the most photographed landmark in the city! Featured within the building is a shopping mall. If you want to explore the towers more, you can walk on the Skybridge, which connect the two towers or you might want to visit the observation deck!

Malaysia

Having a drink at Helipad

If you are looking for a beautiful view of the city AND also a cold drink (it does get very humid), check out Helipad!! You are legit having a drink on a helipad – just don’t go too close to the edge. A really cool place and a different way to enjoy a drink!

Kuala Lumpur

Partying in Bukit Bintang

Speaking of drinks, if you like to party, you want to head to Bukit Bintang!!! Thursday nights are usually ladies night (ladies drink for free) and you can finish your night by having a massage on the way home (they are open until about 2am). What a perfect night!!!

Malaysia

Eating street food

You can’t go to Malaysia and not eat street food! It is everywhere and SO SO delicious! You can also find some weird and wonderful things to eat like frogs and stingrays! Make sure you find something you like and have a go, the food is really good and with a hot pan cooking your food, it is safe! Go to the places you see the locals eat at, that is when you know it is good!!

Immerse yourself in the culture at Batu Caves

Batu Caves is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India. It is a series of cave temples made up of limestone. A really beautiful temple and definitely worth visiting. Just be careful of the monkeys, they will steal your stuff!!
